Hike with a Local

Join Josh Mahan as we break a sweat hiking Mount Walker Trail #894, an Olympic National Forest gem!

This 2-mile – steep, forested hike travels through Doug-fir, salal, Oregon Grape, and bright spring blooms of pacific rhododendron for the only Olympic’s peak featuring Puget Sound views that has both a road (seasonal access only) and a trail to its summit! On a clear day, downtown Seattle, (28 miles away), and Mt. Rainer are seen!

Getting there –

DIRECTIONS:

From Quilcene, WA drive 5 miles south on US Highway 101. Turn east onto Mt. Walker Viewpoint Road. Drive a short .25 mile to the Mt. Walker trailhead. Pullover parking for the trail is on the left side of the road. The trail begins on the right side of the road.
